OUR ASSETS AND ACTIVITIES
The Trust owns the Scalebor Park Sports Pavilion and the Corn Mill Pond. We lease the Pudding Tree and Jubilee Gardens and the Scalebor Playing Field.
We are responsible for the maintenance of all of the above assets and in addition we look after all the Scalebor Park open space (not the woods). This includes annual maintenance of the playing fields drainage and the recent installation of the all weather junior cricket pitch.
We recently completed the renovation of the Fountain of Life and surrounding area at the bottom of Station Road which provides a focal point for the village for residents and visitors.
In addition we run the Annual Duck Race and, with the Scouts and Guides, Teas in the Park in June, the hanging baskets and flower tubs in the summer and lastly the Annual Christmas Lights, Christmas Market and Craft Fair at the beginning of December.
All Burley residents are invited to join the Trust for a small annual fee (£12 for Individuals, £18 Family, £150 for Individual Life membership). If you are a taxpayer and are able to Gift Aid your membership we can claim a very valuable tax benefit.
Members are also entitled to attend and vote at the AGM in January and to stand for election as a Trustee, and are also entered into a prize draw held four times a year (March, August, October, December).
